In general, junk foods are those that have pungent test, high calories but poor in nutritional value. So, anyone can guess the bad impact of having this type of food especially for young generation. Every year, thousands of people across the world suffering from different diseases and health problems due to regular intake of junk foods. First, we should know what a junk food is or when we can identify any food as junk. Foods that are over-salty (e.g. potato chips, fries, pork rinds etc.), very rich in sugar (for example, ice-cream, candies, cold drinks, lemonade etc.) and saturated with fat (pizza, burger etc.) are placed in this category. So, they contain sodium salt, saturated fats, trans fat and sugar. So, why should we concern about junk food? If you consider the harmful impact of these poor quality foods we can easily picture out the reasons of avoiding them. Junk food does not provide any energy to human health, as junk food lacks essential nutrients of human body. So, people regularly taking of this type of food suffer from energy deficiency and poor nutrition. Fats that are abundant in junk food get deposit in human blood which in turn increases blood pressure. Fats also obstruct the normal flow of blood through arteries and become a cause of several dangerous heart diseases like Myocardial infarction. Besides heart, lever is also affected by the deposition of cholesterol in the inner wall of arteries. So, junk food reduces the function of lever. Sugar presents in junk food destroy the teeth. People regularly taking this food are most vulnerable to diabetes and obesity. Beside sugar, excess sodium intake through junk food also damages the function of kidney. One of the devil effects of junk food is it reduces the concentration of individuals. Persons feel dozy due to taking this type of food and they cannot concentrate properly in their work. Moreover, in long run these foods decay human brain (grey cell) because health deprived of protein, oxygen and essential micro- and macro nutrients. So, it is high time to give up your habit of taking junk food, and take fresh, home-made food, fiber containing vegetables and fresh fruits; and only then you can expect to lead a healthy and diseases free life.
