5 Easy Changes in Your Diet to Improve the Health of Your Hair

You noticed some changes with your hair, dry than usual, split ends and worsening hair loss. While you always visit a salon to have monthly treatments, it never seems to cure the problem. You spend a lot of money just to have a beautiful healthy hair, but unfortunately, it never seems to grow long and shiny.

Hair is literally the crowning glory of men and women. It speaks volumes on how we care for ourselves. You have to admit; we love men with a nice haircut, and clean hair, while men prefer women with long, lustrous healthy hair. With a long healthy hair, women become more attractive.

Harsh elements in the environment like pollution and dirty surroundings can affect our hair. You need to wash your hair to remove dirt. However, daily washings can make your hair dry and dull. Excessive salon treatments can sometimes harm your hair, especially with chemical solutions. Subjected to harsh chemicals, your hair can become brittle or dry and needs to rest in between treatments.

Aside from salon treatments, try changing your diet. What we eat greatly affects the condition of our skin and hair. Our hair needs nutrients and essential vitamins from foods that will help nourish. You can incorporate these changes into your diet to achieve a healthy long hair:

  • Eat more fruits and vegetables. A special nutrient from fruits, Inositol, helps keep follicles healthy.
  • Get your daily requirement of vitamin A from milk, cheese, eggs and cabbage. This vitamin can help your scalp produce more sebum, which can prevent dry hair.
  • Eat more whole grains, mushrooms, beans and soy to make your dry hair healthy and strong.
  • Eat a healthy snack of almonds and sunflower seeds to get vitamin E, an important antioxidant that improves the circulation of the scalp. It also helps in protecting hair from free radicals.
  • Vitamin C from oranges, strawberries, broccoli and other citrus fruits helps in making the immune system stronger and hair healthy. Eat plenty of these fruits to get the daily requirement of vitamins and minerals.

If you want a long healthy hair, start changing your diet and feed your hair from within. It also helps to exercise at least three times a week to improve the circulation of blood and to distribute nutrients. Start eating healthy and see a big difference within 3-6 months.
